Management Team Checks in at New Holiday Inn

Two senior appointments have been made at the new Holiday Inn in Winchester.

Siobhan Thomasson joins as general manager and Linda Williams as sales manager.

Their appointments come as work to complete the brand new 16.5 million, 141-bed hotel on Telegraph Way remains on schedule and both Siobhan and Linda will now oversee the project which will create the UK's first 'new generation' Holiday Inn.

Both bring many years experience to the new hotel having had careers in hospitality which included new openings, re-branding and regional event marketing.

Siobhan said:

"Holiday Inn is a world-wide brand with an excellent reputation. Opening this purpose built hotel is a first for the UK under the 'new generation' banner and will give the hotel an international appeal and identity distinctive for the area.

"Every guest will be treated individually from their arrival to the moment they leave and we'll ensure their stay is as comfortable and relaxed as possible."

Creating 90 full and part-time jobs, Siobhan and Linda are now looking for people to fill these jobs.

Siobhan added:

"The majority of the staff will be from the local area. What we're looking for are people with great personalities as well as knowledge of Winchester and the surrounding area. It's that local knowledge that will add to our guests' experience."

Contemporary in design the hotel includes a double-height, glass-fronted reception within the atrium entrance and high quality slate flooring that will give guests the wow factor on arrival.

Other features include mood music that plays different music depending on the time of day and scents will drift throughout the hotel creating a calm ambience.

Linda, who originally comes from Winchester, added:

"This is a fantastic project to be involved with. Coming from Winchester I have a real passion for the town and I can't wait to encourage people from all over the world to visit.

"I'm looking forward to working closely with the business community and those involved with promoting tourism in the area. I know those from both sectors are eagerly awaiting the opening of the hotel.

"I hope that together we will create a place where guests feel better for having visited, tell others about their stay and keep coming back!"
