Marco's Double Appointment at Doubletree

Fiery TV chef Marco Pierre White has the best Cheshire talent heading-up his new restaurant in Chester.

The Godfather of modern cooking has confirmed the appointment of head chef Chris Brown and restaurant manager Brenden Moradi to the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar and Grill, which will open next month on February 12, ready for Valentines weekend.

On a surprise progress trip to his Steakhouse, Bar and Grill at Doubletree by Hilton Chester last week, Marco took time out to say:

"It's so important to have good people and Brenden and Chris are outstanding talents within the food industry. They share my passion and vision for creating an occasion and romance for family and friends, for good food and the experience as a whole."

Cheshire born and bread, Chris Brown of Congleton will be at the helm of the kitchen within the hotly anticipated restaurant, based at the Doubletree by Hilton Chester.

Chris is incredibly passionate about food and garnered his chef qualifications from Macclesfield College before working at award-winning restaurants throughout the local area for 14 years. He has only just returned from intense training at Marco's flagship restaurants in London, Marco at Chelsea and Wheelers of St James.

Chris has met Marco previously and is well-known to the man responsible for the MPW brand in the North West, Francis Carroll. As Marco's long standing friend and colleague, Francis will personally oversee Marco's North West restaurants.

Chris says:
"I am very excited about the launch of the MPW Steakhouse, Bar and Grill at Doubletree Chester. I've worked with many outstanding chefs but it's a dream to work with Marco and Francis, and I can't wait to bring our menu to life!"

With a wealth of experience in some of Chester's finest haunts, Bar Lounge, Upstairs at The Grill and the Cock o Barton, restaurant manager Brenden is dedicated to providing outstanding customer service and creating an unforgettable experience for diners. He is certainly the man to make sure that everything is up to the legendary Marco Pierre White's standards.

Brenden says:
"I think Marco's vision for the Steakhouse, Bar and Grill is exactly what Chester needs. It will offer affordable quality food in a relaxed and romantic ambience. It's simple, straightforward glamour that everyone can enjoy.

"It's getting close to the opening date now and we're all very eager to get going. The restaurant looks fantastic and we can't wait for people to experience the food – we're already taking bookings for Valentine's Day!"

Francis, brand and development manager for MPW North West, says:
"I know Chris personally and as a chef. His experience, drive and palette make him perfect for the position of head chef. While Brenden has a reputation that precedes him and an unquestionable gift for creating that special experience, which the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, Bar and Grill certainly will be."

MPW Steakhouse, Bar and Grill at Doubletree by Hilton Chester will open between February 12 and 14 with a special Valentines set menu before officially opening with the full menu on February 16, 2010.
