Massaging Staff Moral For Better Business

WHEN you have a world-class spa for a neighbour, it is obvious how you reward outstanding staff performance if you do not have the financial clout of banker's bonuses.

The Spinney Day Nurseries in Hoole and Pulford have an unrivalled reputation for staff training, development and retention. Owners Alison and John Thomson put a lot of time and effort in to looking after their team and have a National Employer of the Year Award on the mantelpiece to prove it.

As an independent small business they do not have the option of big staff bonuses. So when it came to introducing an employee of the month reward scheme, Alison and John looked over the garden fence to their Hoole neighbour, The Club and Spa at Hoole Hall.

The two Chester businesses, both based off Warrington Road, have linked-up to reward exceptional performance by individual nursery staff. Every month an outstanding member of the nursery team will be awarded with an indulgent spa package from The Club and Spa's decadent treatment menu.
