Jake Wilding, who lives in Nailsea, now makes full use of the club, Cadbury House in Congresbury as he trains to compete in the British finals of the N.A.B.B.A. championship at the end of the month.
Jake (19) who has just completed his A levels and is now taking a year out prior to studying sports psychology, won his first ever competition in the West Britain NABBA competition three weeks ago. He automatically qualified for the British Finals and is now training for his first national competition.
"I've been training very hard and consistently for four years now and think that bodybuilding is an amazing sport that you need extremely strong will power, determination, motivation and pure dedication to succeed in.
"It is great for your physical fitness, appearance and health, as well as having psychological benefits. It has had a huge positive impact on my life."
Jason Eaton, manager at theclub said:
"Jake had been travelling to both Bristol and Weston-Super-Mare and when we heard he was looking for somewhere local to train we were more than happy to help him out.
"It's so important that people of all ages enjoy and get excited about exercise. As a local business it’s great to see a young local guy doing so well in his chosen sport and we will continue to help him as much as we can."
Having just invested £50,000 in improving the facilities in the award-winning gym, Jake is hoping the state-of-the-art equipment will help him realise his dream of winning many more titles in the future.
"I'm a fulltime body builder so having the club to train at is a great help for me in achieving my goal of winning the competition at the end of May.
"The facilities in the gym allow me to train every muscle group in my body; the equipment is great and high tech.
"In addition, the option to relax and ease the tension from hard workouts in the sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi is awesome. If I win the British Finals I will qualify for the Junior Mr Universe at the end of October!"
