Wrington Fun Run Success

The 30th annual Wrington fun run and family day has been hailed as the best yet with over 400 people taking part raising over £2,000.

Sponsored by theclub at Cadbury House the event took place on Sunday 23 May with those taking part running one lap of the village covering three miles.

The run was followed by a BBQ at The Rec where a host of games were put on for all those who turned up to support the event.

Organised by the Wrington C of E Primary School PTA all money raised will now go towards the school.

Jason Eaton, manager at theclub said:

"We were delighted to sponsor this year's Wrington Fun Run and really pleased it raised so much money for the school. Sponsoring local events like this allows us to get involved in the local community and gives us the chance to get to know our members and guests more personally. It also enables us to give something back to the area."

Nicky Mills, organiser of the event added:

"The response this year was fantastic and the weather was brilliant. I'd like to thank all those who helped organise the event and theclub at Cadbury House for its sponsorship with the money raised gratefully received.

"The money will go towards go towards extra educational trips, equipment and facilities for the children of Wrington which would not be possible within the normal school budgets."
