First member loses two stone and dress sizes

LESS than a year after joining The Club and Spa at Hoole Hall Jane Harrad-Roberts is back in clothes she hasn’t worn for 17 years.

The local busy mum of three, business woman and wife, has lost two stone and dropped two dress sizes going from a size 16 to a size 10/12.

Jane Harrad-Roberts says: “I am getting into clothes that I haven’t been able to wear since the 80s!

"My designer clothes fit again that have been sat in a wardrobe for well over a decade, I am thrilled to be able to wear my now ‘vintage’ Thierry Mugler suit all over again."

Jane was the first person to sign up to the Club and Spa at Hoole Hall before it opened in November 2009, in a bid to get her fitness levels back on track.

Jane Harrad-Roberts says:

"I had my reservations at first because of my hectic lifestyle but I am so glad that I took the plunge and joined. I really shoe horned exercise into my lifestyle.

"I now feel that I make the most of my free time and it gives me more energy for everything else."

A glowing example of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, Jane has gradually lost weight and is maintaining her new ideal weight. A glowing example of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, Jane has gradually lost weight and is maintaining her new ideal weight.

The Club and Spa at Hoole Hall have trained professionals who are there to make sure that members get the most out of there fitness regime and meet their personal targets.

Club Sales and Marketing Manager, Alice Cox says:

"We are so proud of our first member.

"Jane is a great example of what can be achieved by exercising even when you have a busy lifestyle.

"Hopefully she will inspire other people in the local area who don’t feel that they have enough time to exercise and are living a sedentary lifestyle."

The Club and Spa at Hoole Hall is operated by Sanguine Hospitality Ltd and are located on Warrington Road, Chester CH2 3PD, seconds away from junction 12 of the M53.

LOCAL CHEFS DELIGHT THE CROWDS AT HOOLE PRIMARY SUMMER FAIR

The celebrity restaurant based at Doubletree by Hilton Chester provided 150 of their best Ridings Reserve burgers.  MPW Head Chef Chris Brown and Sous chef Steven Spooner made burgers ‘Marco Style’ to the delight of the onlooking crowd.

A local Chester resident won the raffle prize donated by the Marco Pierre White Chester restaurant to cook in the MPW kitchen. The money can’t buy prize to cook alongside Head Chef Chris Brown.

The lucky winner will also get to sample the fruits of their labour after the cooking lesson. All of the dishes that will be cooked are taken from the new menu at the Chester Marco Pierre White restaurant.

Jackie Davis (Vice-Chair of the PTA) says:
“The Hoole Primary Summer Fair was a fantastic day. The sun came out and over 800ppl from the local community came along to enjoy the food and fun and games.
We are very grateful for the generosity of the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, Bar & Grill. The chefs Chris and Steven were fantastic and everyone enjoyed the delicious burgers that they provided.”

CHESHIRE WEST AND CHESTER WEDDING BOOM GREAT FOR BUSINESS

It is hardly surprising that the region rumored to spend the most money on champagne per year – Cheshire – responds to a recession by having more weddings!

The recession appears to have had an unexpected affect on local couples with a suggested upturn in the number of couples tying the knot.

Local wedding venue Doubletree by Hilton Chester says the number of weddings are on the increase in Cheshire and its bulging wedding diary is proof of that.

A staggering 41 weddings have already taken place at Doubletree by Hilton Chester since January, 34 more than for the same period last year.

A spokesman from the Cheshire West and Cheshire registry office said: “Comparative statistics show that there is a 5% increase in the number of weddings at approved premises and registry offices within West Cheshire and Chester in the first quarter of this financial year, compared with the same quarter last year.
"Although the results do not take into account religious weddings and are tentative until a full comparison can be made at the end of this financial year, an increase in weddings would be beneficial to local businesses and tourism.”

Attracted by the beautiful Cheshire countryside and benefits of marrying in a historical city, couples from outside of the area also come to Cheshire for their nuptials.

Doubletree by Hilton Chester Wedding Coordinator Jemma Green says: “The last couple of years have seen a total overhaul of the former Hoole Hall, transforming it into one of the areas leading wedding venues.

“Following the changes we were expecting to see an increase in the number of weddings but our expectations have been far surpassed and we are delighted!
We are almost fully booked to the end of this year and are taking bookings as far in advance as 2014.
The upturn is great for Cheshire businesses and the local hospitality industry.”

The average cost of a wedding in the UK this year is estimated at £21,901, according to Condé Nast Brides Magazine. And according to a recent survey by Direct Line, guests spend an average of £215 each to attend a wedding and stay for the weekend. You can certainly see why the wedding industry has a great affect on tourism and the local economy.

Doubletree by Hilton Chester will be holding a wedding open day on Sunday July 18, 12pm to 4pm, to give couples the chance to look around. The Abbey Suite will be set up for a civil ceremony and the Ballroom for a wedding breakfast, allowing couples to see the wedding venue at its best.

Couples who book there wedding at Doubletree by Hilton Chester within a week of the event will receive a complimentary luxury couple’s spa day.

Teen fit academy improves health of local teenagers

The region's leading health club has launched a new initiative that is encouraging more 12 to 15 year olds to take regular exercise.

Called 'The Teen Fit Academy' the scheme has been launched at theclub at DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House in Congresbury and has already been a big success with over 50 children signing up to take part.

With use of the gym unsupervised restricted to those 16 or above, the idea is to allow teenagers access to use the range of equipment at specified times once they have completed the induction course.

This includes guidance on the etiquette of using the gym such as use of towels and how to use the variety of cardio vascular equipment in a safe and correct manner.

Once they have completed the induction they are then presented with a certificate of induction which gives them access to the award-winning gym, on their own, at specified times.

Already a big success, many of those who have signed up are already seeing the benefits with many parents saying that since joining the scheme their children’s concentration and motivation has improved.

Tom Horton, fitness manager at theclub said:
"This is a great scheme that not only encourages those between the ages of 12 to 15 to take more exercise but gives them access to the gym and most of the equipment.

"We do not encourage the use of weights but show the children how to improve their health and well being using the cardio vascular machines, body weight exercises and other gym equipment such as Swiss balls and medicine balls.

"The response has been fantastic with over 50 teens graduated so far and there is a waiting list for a place on the induction days."
