Charity Ladies Luncheon at Celebrity Restaurant

TICKETS have been released for the most exclusive ladies only event in Chester this year; a fabulous ladies luncheon at the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, Bar & Grill at Doubletree by Hilton Chester, in honour of local charity Claire House.

Exclusively for the fairer sex, the event on Tuesday 14 September will provide guests with an afternoon of indulgence to benefit a very worthy cause.

Guests will be greeted with free flowing Veuve Clicquot Rose and canapés, served outdoors (weather permitting), three-course lunch in the Marco Pierre White restaurant and the opportunity to peruse the latest ChloBo jewellery courtesy of local boutique ERJ.

Spa therapists will be on hand to chat about luxury treatments and provide mini hand massages and the spa's Botox consultant, Jane Hetherington, will also be available for complimentary consultations.

The afternoon of fun and frivolity will conclude with the charity raffle, featuring a wealth of exclusive gifts and money can’t buy prizes to be won. All proceeds will go to North West hospice charity Claire House to contribute the good work they do providing care to children with life threatening and life limiting illness.

Located in Bebington on the Wirral, Clare House provides an invaluable service to the local area, and with no guaranteed government funding, needs to raise £2.5 million per year to maintain its service to the locality.

Doubletree by Hilton Chester Sales and Marketing Manager, Clare Bebb says:

"We're really excited to be hosting our first charity ladies luncheon in the Marco Pierre White restaurant.

"Clare House relies heavily upon funding from the local area and we are honoured to be able give our support towards the amazing work they do.

"Chester boasts an amazing social network and we hope to make these luncheons a highlight of the Chester social diary.”

Tickets are currently for sale for the very reasonable price of £35 per person direct from Doubletree by Hilton Chester. To reserve tickets contact Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, Bar & Grill Reservations Manager Jenny Grimes on 01244 408 830.

James Street Counting the Days to New Hotel Opening

A major new hotel development is set to breathe fresh life into one of Liverpool's busiest city centre streets.

Plans have been unveiled for the Days Inn Liverpool, a 154-bedroom contemporary hotel on James Street, a key transport route for commuters and tourists arriving in the city.

The three-star venue will occupy all five floors of the vacant former Ministry of Defence offices at Moor House, directly adjacent to James Street railway station, when it opens in February 2011.

Days Inn Liverpool joins 41 other Days Inn properties in the UK and will feature a chic, next generation design by architects Falconer Chester Hall, with LCD TVs, free wi-fi and air conditioning throughout.

Days Inn Liverpool is owned and operated by Sanguine Hospitality Management Company which is behind other north west venues such as Marco Pierre White at The Swan Inn, West Tower, Days Hotel Chester North, Doubletree by Hilton Chester and the under-construction Hotel Indigo Liverpool.

Nick Taplin, managing director at Sanguine HMC, said:

"Days Inn is part of Wyndham, the largest hotel group in the world, that owns a range of highly regarded hotel brands, so we are in good company."

"We wanted to ensure that Days Inn Liverpool would bring something genuinely distinct to the city’s existing hotel offer and location was a key consideration. James Street is ideal, both for its transport links and also its proximity to the city’s major attractions, such as Albert Dock and Liverpool One, while business guests will find themselves in the heart of the commercial district."

"There is a great deal of improvement work planned for the area and we are confident that Days Inn Liverpool will be a destination of choice for many years to come."

Belinda Atkins, Vice President Days Inn EMEA said:
"We are delighted to be opening a Days Inn in Liverpool, bringing great value and a great night’s sleep to the city. Liverpool is an exciting destination both for the business and leisure market and we look forward to opening in 2011."

LOCAL hotel Doubletree by Hilton Chester is championing a new football team, AFC Hilton, with plans to take the Sunday League by storm.

Scott Davies [Assistant Food and Beverage Manager] at Doubletree by Hilton Chester spearheaded the campaign for a new Sunday League team, making the most of the ball skills of fellow staff members and local footballers.

Team manager Tony Watts brings with him 15 years experience of youth and senior football along with links to the Welsh FA and Cheshire and District FA.

Captain Scott will head-up the squad of 24 players. He has previously played at semi-professional level and has completed his levels one, two and three in football coaching.

Scott says:

"We would like to establish ourselves in the Chester and District Sunday league, with the intention of becoming contenders for the league and in various cup competitions.

"We are extremely grateful for the support and efforts of Doubletree by Hilton Chester in providing sponsorship for this coming season. Without them all this wouldn’t be possible."

A presentation took place this week to thank key figures in support of the new football team. Framed AFC Hilton shirts were awarded to: Tony Wright, General Manager of Doubletree by Hilton Chester and Peter Hendry Chairman of AFC Hilton football club.

John Hibbert, treasurer and secretary of AFC Hilton attended the event to make the presentation, along with Captain Scott Davies and Manager Tony Watts.

General Manager of Doubletree Chester, Tony Wright says:

"We are thrilled to be the official sponsor of AFC Hilton. We always endeavour to support our staff and the local community in any way that we can.

"It's exciting and we look forward to supporting the lads at the first match of the season.

"We know that the team will also become a valued asset to the local community on both a sporting and social basis."

Pre-season training started for the squad on July 22 and the team has been working hard to get everyone performing at their best by the start of the season on September 5.

As a large contingent of the squad are staff from the Club & Spa at Hoole Hall fitness will be key and the focus over the next few months will be on tactics and team preparation.

Doubletree by Hilton Chester is located on Warrington Road, Hoole, Chester CH2 3PD. For further information, telephone Doubletree by Hilton, Chester on 01244 408 800 or visit www.hilton.co.uk/chester.
