A west Lancashire wedding venue is encouraging women to break the rules of romance this leap year – by rewarding them with free venue hire for their big day.
Staff at The West Tower country house in Aughton are offering any bride-to-be who proposes on 29 February free venue hire for their wedding. As tradition goes, leap year (29 February) is the one day every four years when women are officially allowed to propose to men.
Happy couples are asked to send a photograph of the engagement with evidence of the 29 February date – whether holding a newspaper, phone calendar or a dated photo – to firstname.lastname@example.org. Photos must be received by Friday 2 March 2012.
Lucky couples will get to tie the knot in the heart of West Tower’s eight-acres of rolling Lancashire countryside and have use of venue’s fantastic features and exquisite honeymoon suite.
Leonie Martin, sales manager at West Tower, said: “Leap year is a great tradition and we wanted to celebrate the day by offering something to the brave women that are prepared pop the question on the 29th.
“We’ve already had some speculative phone calls from hopeful brides-to-be who are all ready for the leap year and there’s set to be a lot of happy men on Wednesday. Hopefully we can make it that bit happier by providing them with a beautiful venue free of charge.”
The offer is subject to availability. The West Tower also offers carefully tailored wedding menus and a professional team of experts for organising their big day.
